About Sheri & Strive for Optimal Health Coaching

I love food, I love moving around, and I love getting stuff done. I love being and doing.  I've had many health issues and struggles throughout my life and found what works for me, at least for the moment. We are all different, built different and look different, that is what makes us all so beautiful and unique. We all have our own Optimal and I'd love to help you Strive for your Optimal. 

I did most of my striving alone through reading books, researching, and experimenting through "trial and correction" to try to fix my allergies, heart palpations, chronic migraine headaches, blood sugar imbalances and balancing hormones through perimenopause. I don't want you to go it alone like I did. As a health coach, I listen so I can understand your story. We know ourselves more than anyone, so I'm here to listen to your story.  I want you to get your desired results and be able to celebrate and acknowledge your achievements. The path isn't always a straight line, but in every turn or shift insights are gained and lessons are learned.  We adapt and modify to reach our destination. Every day we are different based on simple things like what we ate (or didn't eat) the day before, when we ate, how much we moved, our sleep, our stress and those we interacted with. I'd be honored to help guide you to better health.

You might not know...

  1. 80% of chronic diseases are preventable through lifestyle changes (including: Cancer, Cardiovascular Disease, Chronic Obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), Diabetes and Stroke.)
  2. 80% of premature heart disease, stroke and type 2 diabetes while 40% of cancer diagnoses could be prevented through lifestyle changes.
  3. Most Insurance nor Medicare/Medicaid pay for health coaching, yet.

  8. Smoking is linked to ~80% of lung cancer related deaths a year. 
  9. Other cancers linked to smoking are mouth, throat, esophagus, stomach, pancreas, kidney, bladder and cervix.
  10. Healthy lifestyle habits can slow or even reverse the damage from high cholesterol and from high blood sugar.  health.clevelandclinic.org
  11. Cleveland Clinic lifestyle medicine specialist Mladen Golubic, MD, PhD says "You can reverse diabetes, obesity, hypertension, high cholesterol and heart disease through lifestyle changes."

I Believe

Kindness and Love win every time.

Food can be medicine.

Struggles and obstacles teach us if we want to learn from them.

Medications and Supplements are vital and useful when needed.

Everyone has something to contribute.

People are brought into our lives for a reason (even for a short period of time).

It's hard to be healthy, but it's harder to be unhealthy - pick your hard.

Do more and serve others, your rewards will be multiplied.

Leaders produce leaders.

Teachers and coaches are there for guidance so those under them can use their own knowledge and discernment to make the right decisions.

We all know the right thing to do or say, but that doesn't make it easy.

Integrity and Reputation is what you are known by.

You set boundaries for yourself, not for other people. 

Sometimes things are hard, so we become stronger.

It's okay to ask for help.

Surround yourself with people that challenge you in mind, body and spirit.

Goals aren't just for work; Goals are for home and life. Set you goals.

A dream is a vision, something you hope for; a goal is an action that can become a reality.

You can't control everything, but you can control what you say and do.

Misery does love company. It's okay to leave when misery shows up.

Live in the moment. Give yourself time to experience an emotion.

Love yourself enough to take care of yourself. Selfcare reduces stress, anxiety and fear, it improves your energy and productivity. 

Friendships and community bring happiness and health into our lives. Make sure your friends are nourishing you and not draining you (and vice versa).
